Cheap vacation destinations?

My boyfriend and I are looking to take a trip after I graduate from college, sometime in June. We would like to stay somewhere on the East coast, by the beach. We do not want to go to any touristy towns such as Myrtle Beach or Virginia Beach. Are there any suggestions? We live in Ohio and do not want to travel too terribly far.
